Best Blog (that I follow religiously) of the week)

So last week I said that Mike had the best blog of the week, and I must be on to something, because a certain post has garnered an astonishing 37 comments. Way to go Plat!

This week I seriously think there might be a 3-way tie. No joke.

In no particular order I loved everything about:
Louisa's "but you're so little"
Scott's "Still Awake"
and Dusick's "Pudding Bath"

this week ruled for postings, and I hate to declare a winner with such amazing content...but I think I'm going to have to go with Louisa.

Reasons:
1) I'm vain - and she posted about me!
2) I love her pictures
3) I love her words

So, there you have it - acceptance speech in the comments section please Lou.

I think the picture of Ricky is supposed to go in the following weeks batch, but blogger won't let me delete it. stupid blogger.

Je t'aime NYC.

So, stop me if I'm wrong (but I know I'm not).  New York rules.  It's not like I thought it wouldn't, it's not like I haven't wanted to come here forever - but really.  It rules.

You know why?  I haven't done anything really crazy cool yet - and it still rules.  Everything is better.  I mean that.

It's warmer.

EC and Allison's apartment is adorable:

Even my lunch was better here - and I bought it at a grocery store.

Yesterday I made it into Brooklyn and met up with Lara, Cynthia's roomate and her friend Nahil.  They were darling - let me in to dump my luggage - and we chilled pretty hard.  They picked my brain, we drank a couple beers, and then we went to meet Cyn for dinner.  After downing some ramen, sake, and green tea ice cream mochi we headed back to their place.  I in turn made my way to meet EC and Allison at their crib.

After a glass of wine and a little catching up it was slumber land for me.  Can an airmattress really be better in nyc?  Yes.

I have to work today - and it is totally pleasant sitting in their kitchen just getting through stuff.  You think I could do this, like, always?

Going to venture out of here as soon as I can, just wander the streets for a while - and then meet up with Cyn and Lara and go to the MOMA.

Don't worry roomie, I'll be back.

Double Whoa

So we all know Sparks is going out of business. I was trying to find more details, and I found this flickr photo. Is he wearing a Fobia Mazatlan shirt?

Oh my god, the internet is fun!

Yeah yeah yeah. I don't post enough. My blog sucks. We want more sunday dinner photos. How come you never post anymore? How come all you do is write? How come all you do is post pictures? Does your internet work yet?

I love you all - but damn - you're a demanding bunch of friends - and maybe that's really why I love you all.

Point is (is there a point? yes.) I hated the internet for a while. Literally. I spend 50+ hours a week on the internet for work alone. There are only 168 hours in a week. I spend about 52.5 hours a week sleeping. So right there, between work/internet and sleep - I've used up 102.5 of my 168 allotted hours. 61% of my hours sleeping and work/internetting. So please explain to me why I'd want to spend one extra percent of my time using the internet/computer for any other reason?

OK - bitch fest over. I'd use an extra percent (or twenty) because I love the internet. Tonight (because I'm using a connection card I've got internet) I got to catch up on blogs. Damn - it feels like I got to hang out with ya'll. The award for best blogger of the week goes to mike - both HPC and Plat had some gems. Thanks for inspiring me to stop being such a whiny bitch and start posting. That doesn't mean you get Sunday Dinner pics today - that would just be too easy. But...they're coming.

Kevin Larson

I met Kevin through Sam (and Laurie), so it makes sense that 90% of my photos of Kevin are of Kevin playing with Shoreline.  One of my favorite memories of Kevin is here, from Town Talk.  He ordered a caprese martini and I don't know if I've ever seen a grin that big before.  The joy he took from the smallest things is incredible.  I will miss Kevin, and the joy he had and shared.  I'm sorry I can't do more for the people who will miss him most; but I just wanted to say thank you to Sam and Laurie for sharing such an amazing person with me.
