The Experience of Being Single

So I've been doing a slow deep clean of the house and it was the fridge's turn. Thankfully there wasn't anything disgusting in there...but that's because there wasn't really much in there. After I threw out all of the expired food there wasn't really much to speak of.

I'd like to point out that the Diet Coke is Stacy's, the Izze is mine. So basically the only edible food Mike had in the fridge was one Black Label (I think there were two and Stacy drank one) and some American Singles cheese. No wonder he's looking skinny these days. Manorexia.

Not that this means I'm better. Just that I enjoy fresh food more. Seriously. Love food.

I swear I get the same cashier at Lund's every time and he always comments that I like beverages more than anyone he knows. Weird comment. But if you look at the two cases of Izze, the Odwalla, the grapefruit juice and the milk you'd maybe think he's right.

So Far Behind...

Random collection of photos below. Most from Rock the Garden which rocked me in ways I loved. Thank you to Sam and Ryan for being the cohorts that they are, and for helping me get in...even if these tickets almost destroyed my and Sam's friendship. Jake, Ryan, Sam & I held it down that afternoon, and even though my spark faded that night and I begged a ride home rather than a session at TML - it was a fantastic day. Does that mean I'm old? Or just smart...

So there you have it. A quick photo recap of my life this past week. More coming soon. Like in ten minutes.

Memorial.

Tucker put into rather eloquent words the essence of Joe Sodd and the overall feeling people who knew him had. Speaking with some of his close friends over the past few days there is not a doubt that Joe left a lasting impression on all who knew him. His joy de vie was intoxicating for those around him. I've heard numerous people say, "whatever Joe was doing, you wanted to be doing it to - he was that kind of guy." Please come celebrate his life with his friends and family this Sunday at the Triple Rock Social Club at 5:00pm. Even if you didn't know Joe, let's support each other in this - and celebrate what he meant to so many people.

viva la música

Why is it that people you don't know and will probably never meet seem to have the exact same thoughts/emotions/experiences as you? Yet somehow they seem to have a better voice and a much better way of articulating themselves and their thoughts/emotions/experiences. Sometimes I forget what music does for me, how it makes me feel, and how it makes me think. I am thankful that in 2008 I have not forgotten this...in fact, this year has been a re-awakening for me. It has literally been years since I have immersed myself so deeply into this thing I love so much...and I've barely scratched the surface. I have had the pleasure of learning about a lot of music I wasn't listening to (thank you Tucker, Mike, Sam, Stacy, Ryan, John and many more) for the introductions. I have also had the pleasure of rediscovering a lot of old favorites (thank you me). Finally, I have been getting to go to some of the best shows I've ever seen in my entire life this year. Yeah for music and the friends I enjoy it with.

THAT'S THAT

Why does everyone think I'm so much trouble?

So we somehow survived the most epic storm that straight came out of nowhere. Good thing it pretty much completely screwed up my plans for the entire night. Jen & Sarah - call me back babes...I tried to get there, but the storm and booze got in the way. I heart you. Also - totally wrecked my Vixens plans. And I missed the after party. Anyway...magic ensued per usual anyway.

The words coming out of our mouths are brilliant:

-Are you crying? Good. It's ok to cry, we'll use your tears for lubrication.

-Big Head smashed my toe.
-Yeah? Well Big Head smashed my life.

-I'm gonna fuck you up cunt.

-Can you pretend for one minute that you're a human being and you'd care if this happened to you?

-This is the circle of trust. Don't abuse it.

-What is this? The Zulu Nation?

-I'm bleeding. It's ok, just rub it in.

-We should just cut off our tits. No tits is the new black.

-It's ok to be racist where she lives.

-What is this? A dungeon?
-It's the slungeon.

-Take that carpet square out of the window.

-Place the lotion in the muthafuckin basket.

-Can I smell yo dick?

-I'm the same dude I've always been.
-Yeah. An asshole and a liar.

a little biddie told me...

to watch out for this.
